Bayesian Palaeoclimate Reconstruction
This talk will concentrate on some of the developments since Haslett et al
(2006) on proxy methods for palaeoclimate reconstruction. Proxy
methods for climate modelling are increasingly used to validate General
Circulation Models (GCMs). We show how multiple proxies can be neatly combined
through Bayesian Hierarchical modelling. Such a model requires a statistical
formulation for changes in climate; the talk will discuss formulations which
may be of interest to both statisticians and climate modellers.
