Abstract
Using a latin-hypercube design, we carry out the calibration for the magnetic perturbations of the Thermosphere Ionosphere Electrodynamics General Circulation Model (TIE-GCM). We follow the Kennedy and O'Hagan (2001) approach to tune three parameters: phase, amplitude, and electron density. Multiple spatio-temporal outputs must be compared with observations. In a first step, we focus on one output (magnetic perturbations) and one location.

We also present preliminary results about the emulation of the TIE-GCM for the drift velocity over one location. A careful choice of spline basis functions yields insight about the physics of the problem.
