Research Interests:
- Methods
- Univariate and multivariate spatio-temporal modeling
- Bayesian hierarchical modeling
- Applications
- Large data analysis in climatology, atmospheric and environmental science
- Public health including childhood cancer and human morbidity
- Time series data analysis
I am currently working on some very interesting problems: One is on reconstructing paleoclimate, and the other one is about discovering the relationship between the heat waves and morbidity.

Uncertainties in past temperature reconstruction
Code and example data for illustration of our uncertainty assessment within the Mann et al. 1999 framework. See Li et al. (Tellus, vol. 59, 591-598) for details:
Instrumental data
Proxy data
The above two pseudo data sets are generated by adding white noise with unit variance to the standardiazed real data. They only serve as a toy data example to try the R code below. However, the results in Li et al. (Tellus, in press) are based on the real data instead of the pseudo data.
