My Ph.D. thesis was ``Wavelet Modeling and Analysis of Atmospheric Blocking Dynamics and Energetics,'' supported by NSF-DMS-9420011. Besides Barry Saltzman, the co-PI's of this research were Professors Ronald B. Smith in GFD and the Center for Earth Observation, and Ronald R. Coifman in Mathematics. The other members of my thesis committee were Professors Katepalli R. Sreenivasan in the Fluid Mechanics: Turbulence/Nonlinear Dynamics/Gas Dynamics/Viscous Fluids group in Mechanical Engineering, and Peter D.M. Parker in Physics, all at Yale University. The external reader was Dr. Anthony R. Hansen of the Augsburg College Physics Department.
Here is the Final Project Report submitted 1998/10 to the NSF.
