Heat Wave in Europe

•Prospective study in an university hospital in Lyon following the French heat wave (August 1-20,2003)

•A total of 83 patients presented with heatstroke

•28-day and 2 years mortality rates were 58% and 71% respectively

•14800 heat stroke deaths in France
