  • 50 member ensemble
  • continuous cycling, 6 hour assimilation interval
  • localization half width ~635/8 km h/v
  • adaptive prior inflation (1.0, 0.6)
  • adaptive localization (2000)
  • sampling error correction
WRF v3.3.1 configuration options:
  • 415x325x40 (E-W)x(N-S)x(B-T)
  • ptop = 50 mb
  • 15 km horizontal resolution
  • Physics options - Tiedtke, Thompson, MYJ, NOAH, RRTMG SW and LW with aerosol and ozone climatology
Observation sources:
  • MADIS - ACARS(U,V,T,Td), METAR(A,U,V,T,Td), RADIOSONDE(A,U,V,T,Td), MARINE(A,U,V,T,Td), PROFILER(U,V)
  • CIMMS - cloud track winds(U,V)
  • COSMIC - GPS occultation(BA)
